How a Fake Engagement Shoot Turned Into A Real Proposal

So, last weekend I got to capture the cutest surprise proposal. BUT, it all started about 7 months ago with a FAKE engagement shoot.

Here’s what happened:

Back in February I asked two friends if they would model in a fake engagement photoshoot for me so I could add the photos to my portfolio. They happily agreed and we shot some photos in the San Francisco Botanical Gardens. Here are a few from the Fake Shoot:

Soon after the fake engagement shoot, they started dating for real!

Fast forward 7 months to last week when I received this message from him:

He told me that he was going to propose to her for real this time, and he wanted me to capture the special moment. OF COURSE, I said YES!

We planned to do it at sunset in front of the Bay Bridge on the Embarcadero. I brought my best friend with me to help! She drew marks with chalk so he would know where to stand so I could get the best angle for the photos from where I was sitting.

He brought her over the spot, got down on one knee, AND SHE SAID YES! It was so sweet and amazing and I am absolutely honored that they included me in such a special moment!

Here are the photos from their engagement and a quick 10 minute shoot we did after the proposal (much better than the photos I took back in February I must say!)
